The Core Facilities successfully acquired funds from the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research to purchase a MERSCOPE Platform from Vizgen for in-situ hybridization based on single molecule FISH technology. Using combinatorial labeling, sequential imaging, and error-robust barcoding, the MERFISH technology directly maps and quantifies the spatial distribution of hundreds to thousands of RNA species in individual cells.
